Jeffco Open Space Foundation is devoted to the fundamental belief that children are Nature’s Next Stewards. With the support of individual and business donations and an award by the Jefferson County Commissioners using funding from the Metropolitan Football Stadium District, they began a new grant program in support of this cause. Under this program, the interest exceeded their expectations and the funds that were available.
They are grateful for organizations like ours that are willing to execute the programs that support this fundamental belief. Reflecting this recognition, they are pleased to award West Denver Trout Unlimited with a Jeffco Open Space Foundation Natures Next Stewards Grant of $2,500. This grant will primarily fund the activities of our Windy Peak Outdoor Lab program, which teaches 6th graders stream ecology, fly tying, and fishing.
