June Chapter Meeting
June 7, 2017 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
David will discuss the national situation in light of the new administration. He may fold in a little historical perspective on TU/CTU and what They have accomplished in varied political times in the past, and why members should be proud and energized to be part of the tradition and continue the effort. He may also see if other staff can build awareness of their program areas.
David coordinates state-level TU conservation efforts on issues ranging from whirling disease to water quality protection. Under his leadership, Colorado TU has successfully reformed state whirling disease policy, secured passage of legislation strengthening Colorado’s in-stream flow program, and conducted many on-the-ground restoration projects for stream habitat and native trout recovery. David holds a BA in Public Policy from Duke University. He enjoys fishing in the Rocky Mountain National Park area and hiking and camping in Colorado’s high country with his wife and two children.
Sammy Hoag is the owner of Sammy’s Fly Shop and a West Denver favorite. He says “A fish is a glimpse of God’s extravagance; the only one enjoying that fish before you was God.”
