April Chapter Meeting

Topic: How heavy metals affect the food chain.
Guest Tier: Mark Bolson.
Brian Wolff is the 2017-18 recipient of the WDTU Graduate Fellowship. He is a third year Ph.D. Candidate in Ecology in the Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology at CSU. His research focuses on on how heavy metals affect the food chain from microbes to insects and ultimately brown trout. Another aim of his research is focused on the effects of habitat restoration in macro invertebrate populations and brown trout at a Superfund site in the Arkansas River near Leadville, CO.
Mark Bolson, our tier, has been Tenkara fly fishing for nine years. He is an accomplished fly tier and Tenkara ambassador. He has represented Tenkara USA at several fly fishing shows In the Denver area as well as the Drift-less area of Wisconsin. Mark is a member of High Plains Drifters (a Denver based fly fishing club) and a member of the International Federation of Fly Fishers. He has spent four weeks at YMCA of the Rockies – Snow Mountain Ranch teaching Tenkara fly fishing to children and adults on Pole Creek.
