Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is experiencing budget shortfalls. Operational costs have increased, including a 322% increase in water leasing for hatcheries. CPW receives no tax dollars. Wildlife managers since 2009 have cut $40 million from the agency’s budget, including $10 million in the last fiscal year. Fishing license fees have been the same for the last decade.
