Let’s Go Fishing – Let’s Go Camping-City of Lakewood

June 1st and the 8th are the let’s go fishing events for the City of Lakewood & Bear Creek Lake Park that we support. John Semich will be coordinating volunteers, so please let him know if you are available, so that he can supply additional information for the events,

Lakewood will be supplying spinning rods for the kids to take home, volunteers will be supplied with a sun canopy, a table, bait and water containers. Volunteers will get free entry into Bear Creel Lake Park. Tell the person at the gate that you are there assisting with the event.

I suggest bringing the usual stuff: sunscreen, fishing pliers, knife/line nippers, fishing gloves to handle pan fish, net, water, etc. You may want to consider bringing a camp chair to both events.

Let’s Go Fishing – June 1st, 9:00am to 12:00pm at Bear Creek Lake Park, Lower Pelican Point. Please arrive between 8:00 and 8:30. Parking will be located at the Pelican Point shelter and the event will be down the hill along the shoreline (near the fishing platform). Up to 75 individuals may attend each event.

Let’s Go Camping – June 8th, 8:30am to 12:30pm. We will be managing the fishing portion of the weekend for first time campers. Please arrive at Bear Creek Lake Park between 7:30 and 8:00am to the Archery Range lot and make your way to Turtle Pond. This Turtle Pond location will be the same as years prior. The Turtle Pond event at Bear Creek Lake Park will have limited parking. John is encouraging carpooling if possible. He lives near the park by Kipling & Jewell & can take several volunteers from his home. Let him know if you have an interest. At the Park entrance, tell them that you are working at the event for free entry.

Contact John Semich if you are available and would like to get involved.
