SUMMARY:Denver American Indian Festival - 2017
DESCRIPTION:The Denver American Indian Festival is the last weekend in September each year. This year\, September 30 – October 1.\n\nThe festival is educational\, cultural and free to all people.  They had 4\,000 attendees last year.  They also do a charity outreach each year and last year and again this year it is the One Nations Walking from Colorado Springs.  They picked them because they help all tribes with whatever they need:  food\, clothing\, furniture\, sporting\, fishing\, hunting equipment.\n\nLast year\, WDTU contributions of fishing equipment along with Bass Pro gave the Festival 9 new fishing rods and what they bought completed about 20 complete fishing sets. These were donated to and well appreciated by the Native Americans receiving it\, who fish for food and are good conservators of the land and water.\n\n\nSee their web site.

SUMMARY:Forest Service Hosts AG Ranch Kids Day
DESCRIPTION:The Forest Service is hosting Denver Public School kids for the 4th annual AG Ranch Kids Day.  The day is designed to introduce students to concepts of natural resource management\, including recreation\, fire\, forestry\, wildlife\, and invasive species. There will be around 60 students plus chaperones and teachers. \nThe students break into groups and walk to learning stations on the ranch.  These stations include archaeology\, fire fighting\, mule packing\, rock formations\, and more.  WDTU volunteers will staff two stations\, aquatic entomology and a fly fishing demonstration.  We show the kids bugs\, oxygen testing\, fly fishing equipment\, and casting.  This is a fun and rewarding event.  Contact Dennis Wiles\, cowdeer@aol.com\, to volunteer.  The event takes place at the Shawnee Pack Station\, just west of Bailey (map).
