May Chapter Meeting

Guest Speaker:  Peter Stitcher          Topic: A Fish Eye View of the Hatch.

Our guest speaker that night will be Peter Stitcher.  Peter is an Aquatic Biologist and self-acclaimed Fly Geek who works with Ecological Resource Consultants, which is based in Evergreen.  At this company, he has had the pleasure of studying, working on, and restoring many of the West’s Gold Medal fisheries. He is also the principal of Ascent Fly Fishing (www.ascentflyfishing.com) which crafts fly selections specific to the life cycle of the bugs you’ll encounter on your trip, your water, and the seasons you fish.  At the May meeting, Peter will try to present you with a fish-eye view of the hatch.  Hopefully, at the end of his speech, you will be equipped with the knowledge to identify the family and life stage of trout food on the water, and how to match it to the best imitation in your fly box.

Vinnie Pachelli

Our guest fly tier on the 4^th will be our old friend, Vinnie Pachelli.  Vinnie is a marketing consultant, but works part-time at Golden River Sports.  He is one of the premier fly tiers in the area, and is one of our long-standing tiers at our annual Fly Tying Clinic.  Come early (about 6:30 PM) to see him work his magic.

To top off the night, the Chapter will hold the drawing for our Fantasy Raffle prize—a custom-made bamboo rod from Alan Kube, a spooled reel, a free guided float trip on the Arkansas and a whole bunch of fly fishing accouterments (an estimated value of about $4,000).
