Chapter Fishing Trip to the Green River

Fred Portillo is coordinating a Chapter fishing trip to the Green River in Utah from Saturday, April 29 – Wednesday, May 3. Carpooling is recommended. We typically leave at 6 AM on Saturday, arrive about 2 pm, and fish either the A or B Sections before checking in at the resort. We leave by 8 am on Wednesday. You will need a fishing license, which you can get on-line at the Utah state website.

We have reserved a trailer this year which has three bedrooms with one queen bed, two baths and two roll-aways.  We also have two condos reserved. Each condo has one bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed. It also has a queen-size sleeper couch in the main room and a twin-size rollaway cot. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a full bath. The rooms have satellite TV and internet service. There are also several campgrounds in the area—one on the grounds of the resort, one on the service road leading to the B Section launch area, and one behind the fly shop in Dutch John. The three reservations will accommodate 16 people. We can add more rooms if there is more interest.

We typically prepare our own breakfast and lunch, and then have dinner at the restaurant. The resort has a full-service fly shop, and you can reserve a guided float trip there. We typically bring our own pontoon boats and wade the river on foot as well.
