Wow, what a program! Our Guest Tier is Charlie Craven owner of Charlie’s Fly Box and renowned fly tier. Kerry Caraghar is the Fishing Manager for Orvis Cherry Creek, and a highly regarded Colorado angler. Pat Dorsey is a master of fishing small flies to big fish. Landon Meyer is a famous author, guide, and big fish stalker. To top it off, it’s our annual chili supper. This meeting is on Friday, November 13th. Click here for details.
Bios:
Aptly nicknamed, “The Prince of the Platte” Kerry is regarded as one of the foremost anglers in Colorado. You will likely find Kerry in 1 of 2 locations. Either he is found in Orvis Cherry Creek’s fishing department helping Denver anglers stock their fly boxes or test the latest and greatest Orvis equipment, or he will be found wetting his line at Deckers or Clear Creek, probably his two favorite locations close to home.
Charlie got started in the fishing business as a commercial tier when he was twelve years old. He tied flies for most of the shops in the Metro area during that time. He also guided on the South Platte and other area waters for about twelve years, and helped open and run a fly shop in Boulder. He opened his store, Charlie’s Flybox, in Arvada in 2004.
Pat Dorsey has been fly-fishing for selective trout for over thirty-five years. His vast knowledge and expertise makes him a true authority in the fly-fishing industry. He is one of the co-owners of the Blue Quill Angler, a full-service fly shop and guide service, serving customers from the same location in Evergreen since 1988. Pat has been working there since 1992. Throughout his journey, his niche has always been teaching people how to fly fish.
Landon Mayer is fly fishing guide and author in the Florissant area, calling the South Platte River his home waters. He has been guiding on these waters for the past seventeen years. Passion and love for the sport of fly fishing are what motivates Landon. His success in catching trout is fueled by an addiction of pursuing large trout with small flies and lightweight fly-fishing equipment.
